With a wealth of experience under his belt, including serving as VP of FPA Australia and working on various NSW State Committees in fire, property, and strata, Rob is all about fire safety—literally and figuratively.

A Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers and an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) in both Assessment and Design, he’s been instrumental in educating the property industry about all things fire related.

But Rob’s not just about spreading the word on fire safety. He’s big on helping others grow, whether that’s in their career, personal success, or even just helping them master their cooking game with a quick tip or two on how to make their next Szechuan barbecue sizzle.

When he’s not in the office or transforming the industry from the top down, you’ll find him out with the kids, likely on some form of bike, or daydreaming about his next holiday adventure (or talking about it—trust us, it’s his favourite topic).

A man of many hobbies, Rob lives life at full throttle. Whether he’s skiing, road biking, tearing it up on a dirt bike, or racing cars, he’s always up for a challenge. Rob’s motto? If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well (and fast).

If he was an amplifier, he’d go to 11, and his passion is just one of the things we love about him.

Since joining us in 2015 as a field supervisor, Mike has become our go-to expert when it comes to Australian Standards, Building Codes, and keeping buildings compliant. If there’s a code, Mike knows it—probably by heart.

He’s an Unrestricted Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) and is well on his way to earning a Master’s in Fire Engineering. Whether it’s quoting the BCA or Australian Standards, Mike’s got it covered. He's also got an impressive knack for remembering movie quotes, so if you’re ever in need of a line from your favourite film, Mike’s your guy and the perfect trivia partner.

Talking about self-reflection isn’t Mike’s favourite thing (he said so himself), but if you ask around, he’s described as sharp, dedicated, and—let’s be honest—a bit of a guru. His journey in fire protection started just after the financial crisis of 2008, and since then he’s worn many hats, from filling CO2 extinguishers to managing operations. Now, as our trusted Technical Officer, Mike ensures everything runs smoothly and buildings stay safe.

When he’s not buried in fire codes, Mike’s a man of varied passions with a strong interest in social justice that just goes to show that he’s a big loveable softy with a heart of gold. He’s a huge fan of cinema, loves music (both listening and playing), and follows baseball religiously (go New York Mets!),

Food-wise, Mike keeps it classic with pizza and has a particular weakness for anything Biscoff-flavoured. Pets? Mike can’t go past Suzy, his loyal greyhound.

Kaz has been a key player in the fire industry since 2008 and has been with 2020 Fire Protection almost since the very beginning, joining the team in 2011. Starting out running the office, Kaz quickly proved to be a multi-talented asset, taking on various roles in service and projects before transitioning to a field-based role in 2015. Now, as our Senior Fire Service Technician and an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety), she’s a trusted expert in ensuring everything fire-related runs like clockwork.

A passionate snowboarder, she loves hitting the slopes when the winter season rolls in, carving up the powder with skill and enthusiasm. Outside of work, Andrew’s biggest passion is volunteering with the RFS, where he’s committed to protecting communities and the environment. When he’s not on duty, you’ll likely find him jamming on one of his many instruments—whether it’s his electric guitar, classical acoustic, bass, or even his digital piano. With a background as a licensed electrician through TAFE NSW and an open cable licence, he’s also stacked up several machinery tickets, including for telehandlers, excavators, skid steer loaders, and elevated work platforms. Add first aid and structural firefighter training to the mix, and you’ve got someone who’s well-prepared for anything.

Nathan began his electrical apprenticeship in 2018 and recently transitioned into fire protection, where he’s been making an impact for nearly five months. But his passion for fire safety doesn’t stop at work—Nathan has been a volunteer firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service for five years, helping out at house fires, car fires, and bushfires. This experience gives him a unique edge in the fire protection industry, and his commitment to keeping people safe is unwavering.
